Nottinghamshire Torch SCITT

Treena is Director of Nottinghamshire Torch SCITT (NTS) and Nova’s Early Careers Framework (ECF) provision. She set up the highly successful SCITT and ECF provision in a growing number of partnership schools (over 40 schools within the SCITT) which incorporates a wide range of Educational sectors that support teacher training.

Treena secured a very prestigious International Partnerships with teacher training in Finland and several British International Schools (in Italy, Belgium and Czech Republic) connecting teacher training experiences overseas with UK provision.

Under Treena’s leadership the Nottinghamshire Torch SCITT won NASBTT “Innovative Practice Award” 2019-20 for the success and diversity of ITT training/opportunities. Treena led the Torch Teaching School Alliance from 2012-2021 which included all levels of teacher professional development (ECF, NPQs and Teacher Networks) all of which played a key part in the successful recruitment and training strategy of teachers within and beyond Nova.

Treena is a qualified teacher of Physical Education and Geography (teaching over 25 years) as a Senior Leader for CPD, Head of Department, School Sport Co-ordinator and Regional Teacher Trainer for the Youth Sports Trust; advising all sectors in curriculum delivery of PE and school sport.

Treena is very interested in research and sharing best practice and writes topical articles for TES, NASBTT, Schools Weekly as well as presenting at national and international conferences in relation to teacher training/research.
