Inma Peňa

Newark Academy

Inma is the Head Teacher of Newark Academy. She became a teacher in 2002 and has worked across a range of secondary schools in Cheshire, Lincolnshire and London. During her 21 years in education, Inma has had extensive leadership experience including leading on teaching and learning, curriculum design, assessment and behaviour.

Inma is committed to ensuring that all pupils feel safe and secure to enable them to flourish in every respect. She believes vehemently that all children have the right to an outstanding education, which gives them the chance to become the best version of themselves.

Her leadership is rooted in the belief that learning is a transformative force for good, and is driven by the highest expectations for all students. Her love for teaching shows as she still teaches Spanish every week and she is fiercely proud of the students and staff that she leads.

Inma is passionate about getting things right for the staff, genuinely believing that if leaders look after their staff, staff are more able to look after the students. She believes that positivity breeds positivity and that with a ‘can do’ attitude aspirations can be realised.
